Kim Santiago joined Construction Bonds, Inc. in January, 2011 after 10 years in the Real Estate and Property Management fields. Her organizational skills and innate enthusiasm for helping people creates a smooth and responsive office for staff, prospects, and clients.
Kim recently received her Property & Casualty Insurance license and is working toward her Office Manager certification.

Ann joined Construction Bonds, Inc. in May 2011. She spent the previous 12 years as a project officer for U. S. State Department’s Worldwide Refugee Program. She worked with a team of contractors on records that affected the lives of individuals. For 15 years prior to that, Ann worked as Office Manager, Administrative Assistant and Procurement Officer with the Centech Group, Inc. (a nationwide defense contractor headquartered in Virginia )
Ann brings diverse experiences, skills and a detail-orientated focus to Construction Bonds. Ann is working on obtaining her Property and Casualty Insurance License.

John Hughes is the President of CBI. Mr. Hughes founded the agency in 2003 to provide bonds through the SBA bond guarantee program and traditional A-rated bond markets to emerging contractors. With over 40 years experience in insurance and bonding, including a strong background in construction insurance and bonding and multiple professional insurance affiliations, Mr. Hughes is responsible for all facets of the agency’s operations.
Mr. Hughes understands the challenges faced by many first time bond clients and engages them as partners with the agency in order to empower them to succeed financially. In doing so, he takes a personal interest in the bond needs of all of CBI’s clients.
Mr. Hughes has maintained an insurance agent license since 1973, meeting annual requirements for continuing education. He has also held the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations since 1980 and 1982, respectively. He is a member of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP), Associated Builders & Contractors, Inc. (ABC) and several small business associations. Mr. Hughes also served in the United States Air Force Security Service with a Top Secret Clearance for five years.
Edin Zukanovic

Edin Zukanovic is a recently hired bond producer at Construction Bonds, Inc. Edin brings with him extensive surety knowledge, having worked with an agency for several years prior to joining Construction Bonds in October of 2010. His experience in working with larger accounts allows him to apply that experience towards contractors of all sizes.
Edin is an active member of the DC Metropolitan Subcontractors Association and the National Association of Surety Bond Producers. He has participated in bond related workshops and training seminars through GSA and the District of Columbia Contractor Development Program, to name a few. Edin is a graduate from the George Mason University School of Management where he majored in Business Management.
Joshua A. Etemadi

Joshua A. Etemadi joined Construction Bonds in August of 2007. In his short tenure with the firm, Mr. Etemadi has dedicated his career to helping small contractors significantly increase their bonding capacity, having successfully moved contractors from non-standard market/SBA supported bonds to standard market surety credit in short periods of time.
Mr. Etemadi is currently serving as vice chair of the Small Business Committee through the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP) and serves on the Automation and Technology Committee. He is actively involved in legislative issues through the NASBP related to the Construction and Surety industry. He is also involved with the DC Metropolitan Subcontractors Association and currently serves on the Leadership, Education, Advocacy and Development (LEAD) committee.
Mr. Etemadi has been featured in several publications based on his knowledge and expertise on surety bonding for emerging contractors. Mr. Etemadi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from George Mason University School of Management.
Alice W. Thomas

Alice Thomas has worked as the Corporate Treasurer and Secretary of CBI since its inception in 2003. Her primary responsibilities include working with the majority owner to develop sound operating policies and to hire and supervise the in-house professional staff. With a strong background in accounting and technology, Ms. Thomas also manages all financial and IT aspects of the agency.
Ms. Thomas’s dedication to the agency and its clients is evident in the personal attention she gives to the security of the company’s record system and the guidance she provides the staff in the care and development of client relations.
